From an early age, Kayleen has explored 2-Dimensional art and illustration extensively in both subject and medium.

Her work hangs in private and corporate collections around the world including the Australian Embassy in Ireland. She has won many awards, with the most recent the Fredrik McCubbin Award with a portrait; her most loved subject matter.

Since late 2009 she has worked with several publishers as author and/or illustrator, publishing 14 children’s picture books until recently, when she returned to her first loves – fine art, faith inspired works and plein air painting.

Mother, wife and grandmother first and art every second in between, Kayleen enjoys working mostly in oil, gouache or casein, pastel and exploring in her sketchbook.

Many years ago, Kayleen demonstrated for us by using a mirror and painting our members watching.

Today she explores a new curiosity; how the masters used gouache and pastel in combination and why it may be something we’d like to try also.
